Determination of Sun Protection Potential of Hibiscus rosa-sinensis as Natural Additive for Cosmetic Industry
نویسندگان
چکیده
Harmful rays coming from the sun cause negative effects on human body. Sunscreens and UV protective products are used to reduce prevent these effects. Plants have been in medicine cosmetics for centuries, potential treat skin diseases. Consumers tend use sunscreens that contain natural ingredients instead of synthetic sunscreens. In this study, vitro solar protection factor (SPF) values water extracts flowers leaves Hibiscus rosa-sinensis were investigated. addition, SPF commercially available cream mixtures also examined. The measured at wavelengths 290-320 nm UV-B ultraviolet reaching earth sun. H. flower leaf determined as 11.77 22.10. extract has highest value (21.70) 10 mL concentration among prepared mixtures. Therefore, with high may be additives cosmetic industries.

Post-Coital Antifertility Activity of Hibiscus rosa-sinensis Linn. roots
Ancient literature mentions the use of a number of plants/preparations for fertility regulation. Some local contraceptive agents have also been described in Ayurvedic and Unani texts. Documented experiments or clinical data are, however, lacking. Therefore, the present study was undertaken to explore the antifertility and estrogenic activity of ethanolic extract of the roots of Hibiscus rosa-si...
متن کاملHypolipidemic activity of Hibiscus rosa sinensis root in rats.
The hypolipidemic activity of Hibiscus rosa sinensis (family Malvaceae) root extract was studied on triton and cholesterol-rich high fat diet (HFD) induced models of hyperlipidemia in rats. In triton WR-1339-induced hyperlipidemia, feeding with root extract (500 mg/kg body wt/day p.o.) exerted lipid-lowering effect, as assessed by reversal of plasma levels of total cholesterol (TC), phospholipi...

Objective: To investigate the effect of the methanolic extract of Hibiscus rosa sinensis roots (H. sinensis) on the central nervous system in mice and rats. Materials and methods: The methanolic extract of H. sinensis was studied on pentobarbital-induced sleeping time, elevated plus maze, hole board test, foot shock-induced aggression, haloperidol-induced catalepsy, lithium-induced head twitche...
متن کاملAntihypoxic Activities of Hibiscus rosa sinensis in Mice
Background and purpose: Imbalance between low oxygen supply and oxygen demand determines organ hypoxia. It occurs especially in heart diseases and ischemia and causes death. Compounds with antioxidant activity could exhibit antihypoxic properties. Hibiscus rosa sinensis has good antioxidant activity, but there is no information about the antihypoxic activities of this plant. This study was desi...
متن کاملFullerene-Based Symmetry in Hibiscus rosa-sinensis Pollen
The fullerene molecule belongs to the so-called super materials. The compound is interesting due to its spherical configuration where atoms occupy positions forming a mechanically stable structure. We first demonstrate that pollen of Hibiscus rosa-sinensis has a strong symmetry regarding the distribution of its spines over the spherical grain. These spines form spherical hexagons and pentagons....
